Passions
The last couple months have been very hectic, and I have not been in my studio very much. Of course it is summer which is typically a busy time for families in general! Our summer included our daughter getting married :) trips, visits from family overseas. All wonderful and exciting occasions but put stress on creative process in the studio :)
One thing I have realized is that I have missed getting into my studio every day, miss painting, the whole process of getting out my paints, papers, thinking about my creative process. Even when I’m not in my space I’m thinking about my next series - I have to remember to write it down otherwise they are easy to forget. I never realized how passionate I am about my art. My mind and life was always so filled with my full time job, and other things and never gave myself time to think about what I was really passionate about and love. I am very happy to know that now so much later in life - it’s taken a lifetime of learning and experiences and understanding who I am and what I want! It is not always easy to follow ones heart but it is worth it. Also realizing that what I want is not being selfish, and that it is very important for our wellbeing.
